Andargachew Deneke Demssie is an Assistant Professor of Ethiopian Sign Language and Deaf Culture Studies of the Department of Linguistics at Addis Ababa University. He completed his PhD studies in 2021, descriptive linguistics specializing in sign language linguistics. The topic of his PhD dissertation is Phonology of Ethiopian Sign Language.  He has been working with the Deaf community in Ethiopia for the last 25 years of which 16 years of them are teaching Deaf Students in Higher Education. His research interest is inclined to sign language linguistics, Deaf education, inclusive education, and communication & interaction of people who are Deafblind.
